Realistic Prerequisites
- Calculus: 18.01/18.02 necessary
- 18.03 was mostly regarded as necessary.
- Some programming experience may be helpful.
Subject Matter
- Applied: The course was focused on applications.
Course Staff
- Caring and approachable: The professor and UA would respond in a timely manner to emails and Piazza posts.
Lectures
- Lectures were well-paced, and the professor made a lot of effort to make things well-motivated and clear.
Problem Sets
- *The problem sets were long but appropriate in difficulty. They were useful in helping students understand the lecture material. The problem sets were highly related to the lectures.
Exams
- The only exam was a take-home exam with a 2 week window. It was reasonable in difficulty and worth 30 percent of the grade.
Resources
- There were pre-lecture notes and lecture notes posted per lecture that were preferred by the students to online resources.
Grading
- Grading was described as sometimes harsh but fair.
